| Customer Reviews: Great Game, Poor graphic quality. June 15, 2010 J. Espinosa (NBA fan) I bought this game for my PS2. This game is good but the graphic quality is poor. I own another NBA 2K games and all of them have poor graphic quality. I have the 2003 NBA game and it is much better game graphics are really good. I will recomend for any body who likes NBA games but not for a person who want to see good graphic imagens.

The best NBA experience on the PS2 May 12, 2010 Zachary Ross Ferrell (Charlotte, NC) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is definitely the best NBA experience you can receive from your old ps2. The graphics are top notch for the system and even not as popular players look recognizable. The gameplay can vary based on how you adjust your sliders and can be adjusted to anyone's preference to how often certain shots go in and how good your players are and so forth. I haven't been keeping up deeply with the 2k games over the years but this one definitely hits all the levels of a great basketball game. It's also more deep than NBA Live because you can do certain practices to develop a player in a variety of ways in association mode. My only complaint is that in the ps2 version, I have failed to find a way to change a players designated position. There is a player that nowadays plays more sg than sf and I can't change that. Also, there isn't a way (that I know of) to change someone's jersey number outside of association or season mode. But these can be overlooked being that they are not the forefront of what makes this game fun to play. The controls in the game and animations are fluent and smooth and are not faulty in the sense to where that if you mess up, you'll know it was all you. And if you still don't like how they work, it all can be adjusted like I mentioned earlier. All in all, if your into the next gen. games with a ps3 or 360 and you don't like what the ps2 does, then you might be bothered by what this game has to offer. But if you still have the old ps2 around and haven't been able to move on yet and want the best NBA experience, this game is definitely for you.

I got this game and played it for 2 hours straight! All the modes are cool. Practice, playoffs, season, and many more.I like the graphics and everything.Though I still like NBA live.If you want unbeliavable graphics(like me)get it for Xbox or ps3.Overall this game is very interesting.
The best part of this purchase was when I broke the disc in half April 23, 2010 N. Lucas (Boston, MA) 4 out of 8 found this review helpful
Maybe it's because I've been an NBA Live guy for most of my life. But after playing halfway through a season on 2k10, I hated the game so much I just threw it away. The gameplay is baffling in its clumsiness. So much so that I don't understand how this project made its way pass the experimental phase. Pass the ball to a player, and the player doesn't actually receive the ball at that spot he was standing. Instead, he moves to some other spot ... not by your own control ... which can, at the least, upset your plans through the flow of the game or, at worst, lead to unwarranted turnovers. I've had players receive the ball by the baseline only to immediately run out of bounds and turn the ball over. Repeatedly, I'll try to move a player two steps only to have him take three or four and run out of bounds. It looks like the designers were trying to give the avatars a semblence of dramatic action, something like, "Whoa! I'm moving so fast I can't keep myself within bounds!" or "That pass was thrown so hard I had to take two steps just get it under control!" The effect ranges from silly to shotty. On defense, if you bump your opponent when he's close to the halfcourt line, you can literally push him back across the line and get a backcourt violation with no foul. But just realize, you can have that done to you too. Most fouls are called simply for jumping straight up when your opponent is taking a shot, and replays often show little more than a finger grazing the shooter. It's as if defense is strongly discouraged. And for some reason, making lay-ups are extremely difficult, despite the fact that it's a little too easy to get into the lane. (Should I really be doing crossovers and spin moves with Chris "Birdman" Andersen?)And there aren't any alley-oops either, at least as far as I can tell. If basketball isn't really a game you're passionate about and you just want to play something set on easy just to kill time, I can see how NBA 2k10 can fill that need for $15 or so. That's not a bad deal. Otherwise, its gameplay is amature at best. I'd rather play Live 95 on the original playstation before wasting anymore of my life with this game. At least the antiquated technology of the first PS will allow me to understand why I feel so underwhelmed when I'm playing.
