Customer Reviews: A manual would be nice August 21, 2010 S. Montoya (Calexico) In order to detect your control you have to press Up+Select. It doesn't work with my Logitech wireless controllers but it does work well with the original Dualshock 2 and 1.For [...] is good to have another controller.
I used in firmware 3.41
Small size, works well! May 25, 2010 Luis Alberto Mejia (Boston, MA) No configuration needed; just plug and play. Works well if you want to use your old PS2 controlers on the PS3. No force feedback on games.
It works May 13, 2010 Garit Boshcka (McHenry, IL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I immediately opened my adapter box up, took it out, plugged in my favorite PS2 controller, plugged it into my PS3, and then... It didn't work. Not the adapter, that is, my PS3. But, my PS3 broke due to completely unrelated issues.
The best part about this product is - it works in the computer!
For $2 an adapter, you can't lose, it's plug and play, lets you utilize your old PS2 controllers, and it works alright. It's incompatible with some stuff, as I hear, and it has a slight delay, but unless you're a hardcore gamer, you won't notice or care.
I use mine to play Oblivion, GTA, every emulator imaginable, and even Halo. I have a wireless 360 controller adapter, but I really like the PS2 controller, and it's fun to spite Micro$oft by playing one of their games with a Sony controller.
I give it four stars because, even though I ordered four of them, and they all came bundled together in a package, I paid for each one's shipping individually. So the total came to about $15 more than it should have, and I was very upset, but it's in their policy, so there's nothing I can do.
works but doesn't completley replace a ps3 controller April 21, 2010 Mathew Reeves (Brighton, MA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
like the title says, using a ps1 or ps2 controller for a ps3 does work, but doesn't completley sync. in that i mean there is no ps button like there is on the ps3 so when i want to quit a game, i have to shutdown the console or eject the disc. also the r2 and l2 buttons on the ps1/2 controller aren't pressure sensitive making games like grand theft auto harder to play.
all in all, its a deal to replace a broken ps3 controller with 4 bucks and a ps2 controller you already have, but for me its definatley a temporary fix, meaning im going to have to throw down the 54.99 at some point but this will get me though till then.
Great alternative April 15, 2010 Mont Marissa (Guatemala) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great option for using another controller in the ps3. I've bought it because I wanted 4 controllers to play with friends and it has worked greatly. It works just like a ps3 controller and it is a cheaper alternative if you don't want to spend the amount of a dualshock 3. And something important is that YOU CAN USE IT WITH PS1 CONTROLLERS, not only ps2. I've used it like that and it doensn't give any problem, so you can use your old controllers of either console, which to me is something very useful.
