I never even played a Devil May Cry game until February 2009. I just figured I would of never liked the series that much I guess. The first one was pretty cool and the second one was good but far from great. Now we have Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition and this game is a tremendous accomplishment in the series and for any game. I never really like video game stories that much, but however this one has a really good story and the cutscenes elevate the story ten fold. Graphically the game is a masterpiece on the PS2. Gameplay feels better than ever in the series. This game is excellent fun and thats the only way I can really explain it. DMC 3 has a lot to offer to anyone that is a fan of action games. As it is DMC 3 is about as perfect as a game can be. Once you start playing you can tell DMC 3 got the royal treatment when it was developed. Storyline - Probably one of the best I have seen in years. Graphics - Probably one of the top 5 games graphically on the PS2 Gameplay- Near perfect Sound - Excellent soundtrack and special effects Replayability - As fun as DMC 3 is you can always go back and do mission selects and play in any order you want or replay the whole thing. The thing about DMC 3 that makes it stand out is the fact your going to want to replay it since its so well done. Bloody palace mode is fun as well. After you beat the game as Dante you can go through and play as Vergil and thats yet another way to make the longevity that much better. Verdict - simply a masterpiece and a must own. Score - 10 out of 10

What can i say more than some other great reviews that say it all really now i finally heard that the game was fix finally in the version then the other cuz no lie the first one was killin me i'm a chick yeah but i've been a long gamer since i was 9 and i'm 25 now and i've always love devil may cry Dante was the shiz really i was in love with the first game but it has gone a long way since the 2nd one was a little disappointin but it was still pretty good game just no story but i thought it was still fun to play but i would give it 3 1/2 stars sad to say. but anyways this game give so much more story and all the extras and the fix the mode THANK U GOD bout time i played the orignal one and it was killin really alot lol it was gettin on my nerves so yeah i stop playin went to another game but always wanted to finish it but now I got too with this edition and let me say ssssssssssoooooooooo much fun i forever will be a fan the 4th was cool but the never told us who dot was they better make a DMC 5 and let the fans have the info cuz its killin me. If u never played this game play them all but buy this special edition for the 3 game cuz u will probably get mad like alot of others did when it came out =p k laters

Devil May Cry falters in some of its story duties, but it has an unflinching sense of camp and fun absent from most titles (especially, frankly speaking, Japanese ones). The design is sometimes hellish, but I find that appropriate - fighting enemies is always fun and even when dropping into a nest of foes is a "punishment" it still gets your blood racing as you try to beat them economically and without too much life lost.
The game's challenging, but pick up the Special Edition and it won't be hellish. It's very fluid gameplay with a multitude of useful weapons, (mostly) awesome bosses and completely skill-related gameplay (meaning there aren't many cheap deaths).
