Product Description Taking place two years after Yuna's fateful journey to defeat Sin the once chaotic world of Spira hasgone through a massive transformation entering a period of "Eternal Calm". The people of Spira now shun the teachings of Yevon and have opened their arms to former foes the Al Bhed and the use of machina. The Machine Faction aims to propagate the use of machina in Spira going as far as renaming "machina" to "machines" to remove the stigma. However even with the peaceful life they now live there is an emptiness in Yuna's heart that is keeping her from moving on as the others have. One day Yuna obtains a mystical sphere that contains imagery of what might be the Blitzball player shethought was gone forever. Although Yuna isn't certain that it is him or if he is even alive she's driven toseek him out. Yuna needs closure to their unexpected parting even if only to find that she will never seehim again. So begins her journey...Format: PS2 Genre: RPG (VG)/ Rating: T - Teen UPC: 662248903057 Manufacturer No: 90305

| Customer Reviews: The Negative June 27, 2010 StunnaKevin This review is not about the difficulty is about the game play. If you is a person who is accustom to slamming down control out of frustration you might do it to this game. The hotspot on the map an average person would think that they should go to the hotspots first and new one would open in the same chapter but it's the total opposite they should be the last.
Getting 100% completed is difficult with out a stategy guide or some external help cause is you run a google search there's alot link with how to play and people asking for help and the map on the top left screen is the most useless map i ever seen there are no legend not even a full map of the area and you dont know where exactly you are when you traverse cause it dont tell you unless you save and see the name on top the save.
The final fantasy the place is vast i have numerous problem finding rin it say meet rin under the blitzball dome by luck i found it. Some locations are connected and without a detailed map you dont know where you end up lucliky yuna might give an intro.
Maechen is sitting and he camouflage making it difficult to see so basically you have to talk to everyone apparently some more than once. With meachen you cant interupt or skip and the game give you the options even though you wouldn't get the complete percentage.
The writing a a little small so i wouldn't recommrnd you playing it on a tv smaller than 19inch. During battle if you have an ailment you dont see it readily when you going to attack or select an action they give you a symbol which mean have to go in the book to read one thing that is would mention is you dont wasted items whichmean you must you the appopriate item other wise it would work. Not entirely sure if it's the same in a battle.
Final Fantasy X-2 June 14, 2010 Master Z I will admit I enjoy the series, but at this point in time, I really can't get going on the game after the intro mission cause I am unsure of what to do next, who to talk too and what order if you know what I mean. If I knew what to do, I would give the game a higher rating, but right now, I don't know. Maybe if I got the guide, it would be easiser, but right now, I'm still trying to find my way. I know I stink at it, cut me a break.
Not bad... June 7, 2010 Cherrin Kim 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Many don't like this game due to the girly aspect of it...I can't count how many times I've heard "charlie's angels" come up in the review. I mean, sure if you're THAT against it...then you won't like it. As for me, it was pretty good. Of course, this game won't really make sense unless you played the original...
The new battle system is definitely different...I didn't like it at first but I got used to it later on and it actually became addictive. If you're looking for a description, go look it up on youtube.
As for the story, I VERY MUCH enjoyed it...I love happy endings. Call me a sucker. Still, the process to achieve the "perfect ending" is tedious and annoying...you need to REALLY want it to get it.
Music was okay, it's very poppy and optimistic. I didn't hate it, but it got annoying sometimes.
awesome! As always... May 24, 2010 Y. Sample (Tokyo) I really don't know how anyone could talk down about this game. Sure, it's storyline is a bit more lighthearted than it's predecessor, but once you begin playing it, you cannot stop. It's controls are easy to get used to, and it's characters are even more easier to love. It has a decent length to it, and it's one of the first FF's to sport a split storyline. The cutscenes are amazing, had they been a movie I would have seen it. They really do bring you into the story, and you feel like you know the characters. There are actually humorous parts to the story, which makes it all the more enjoyable. It has a couple music flaws, because the pop music doesn't appeal to everyone. I think that this really is a solid, enjoyable game. It, for some reason, is kind of inspiring. Just listening to the last few cutscenes makes you feel happy, I mean how could the whole game not? Its a game worth buying, or at least checking out.
What Happens When Square Phones it In May 23, 2010 Oliver (New Jersey, USA) It's really a testament to the strength of the brand name when you can watch the opening sequence of this game, go "What the #&@% was THAT?!", and then STILL somehow keep playing.
Make no mistake, this game was made for one reason and one reason only. Square still hadn't recovered from the 100 million dollars (yes, you read that right) it had lost making "The Spirits Within" and they needed some quick cash before their merger with Enix, and what better way to make a quick buck than with a sequel?
There's a reason reviewers tend to frown on sequels. They're easy. It's hard to create something new. Develop new and compelling characters, locations, themes, and ideas. With a sequel you have half the work already done for you. When done right it can be a continuation, or expansion of something compelling that came before or even a story that can stand on its own as something great (The Godfather Part 2, Terminator 2), when done as a way to cash in and make a quick buck off an established work, it can be... well... almost anything else. Square already had a bunch of locations, character models, and code done for FFX, so why NOT just slap together a game on the cheap when legions of fans will lap it up?
As for Square's claims that this game has a mission based open-ended system, that's borderline false advertising. The storyline is as linear as a DVD movie. The missions come in the form of various odd-jobs your group can undertake for money. A rare few of these involve dungeon-crawling and adventure (something I assumed I'd see a lot more of in a FF game) while most of it is some staggeringly ridiculous tripe such as catching birds and selling concert tickets to passers by.
The plot (if it can be called that) centers around Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup... sorry, I meant Yuna, Rikku, and Paine, finding a sphere that indicates Yuna's dead boyfriend Tidus might still be alive and awkwardly laughing at the ocean somewhere. Oh yeah, and the Gullwings decide to solve all the problems in the world with a gigantic pop concert. Sorry, but when did this become Macross without the transforming jet fighters?
The combat system is also a bit of a joke, for while it is a perfectly serviceable combat system, there's actually very little combat to be had. This game is 90% inane mini-games and cut-scenes (which I hope you like, because while most are skippable, the longest and most annoying aren't).
Thanks, but if I want that I'll play Mario Party or watch a DVD.
